New year, new team! We wanted to end 2016 with a bang and do something vibrant and fun. Pop art was the inspiration for these looks. Our wardrobe stylist, Margaret Bechtold, did an amazing job putting colors and patterns together to give these vintage looks a modern twist. Hair stylist, Emilie Litzell, decided to start with some classic rollers that easily transitioned into big curls for the remaining looks on model, Erica Silverman. Makeup artist, Jocelyn Fleury, did a smokey eye with teal shadow and a red lip for that pop of color. And to top it all off our videographer, Jason Garza, was there to capture it all on video!

When I saw this "Goddess of darkness" dress designed by Allie Flint I knew I had to be the first one to capture it. I chose our model, Maranda Lampe, because of her background in dance which would allow her to conquer some graceful poses. I decided to do a muted look with her makeup and our hair stylist, Emilie Litzell, went for teased curls for her hair. I also purchased some different fabrics to play with and captured some movement (Tip: sometimes all you need is some light fabric, a powerful fan and a fast shutter speed to make a great photo). I love dramatic shadows so I set up a speed light on her left side and a fill light in front of her to soften some of the shadows while still giving a dramatic look.

With this shoot we wanted to break the stereotype of what a "fashion model" body looks like. Fashion isn't just about catering to the slender body type anymore. Tyla is a military veteran and is the perfect example of what a strong woman embodies. We wanted to show off her toned figure that she works very hard to maintain with everyday trips to the gym. We want to show that you can maintain a healthy lifestyle and still be fab!
This photo shoot was produced in a rural area on the outskirts of Austin, TX by three local artists. Photographer, Linda Hughes, utilized the beauty of these yellow fields and blue skies to give a feeling of peace and serenity. Model, Carleen Johnson, flaunts an edgy look to contrast nature which gives this editorial rural appeal.
Uptown Events & Travel teamed up with some of their favorite vendors in Austin to create an elopement + travel styled shoot to showcase their latest services- travel planning. Collaborating with Azul Ox Visuals gave them the inspiration to think outside of the box, incorporating four different locates into the shoot- the airport tarmac, the countryside, a small elopement chapel and a campfire for their small intimate celebration of their marriage. Uptown Events & Travel wanted to bring excitement to elopements and show the true beauty and intimacy of getting married privately and jetting off across the world together. Uptown events & Travel is thrilled to now plan their clients weddings- big or small and then plan their honeymoons. They are able to create special moments on your big day and the days following.
